Ward Farnsworth, in his book Farnsworth’s Classical English Rhetoric, gives us hope for improving our writing by leaps and bounds in this installment of #ByTheBook.

He wrote: “Everyone speaks and writes in patterns…they are models we internalize from the speech around us without thinking much about it, But it is also possible to study the patterns deliberately and to learn more about how to use the ones that make the words they arrange more emphatic or memorable or otherwise effective.”

Think on that for a bit. Rather than despairing if you don’t think highly of your writing ability, be encouraged you can actually learn techniques for elevating your writing.
